HUSSAINIA YOUTH COMMITTEE Salamun Alaikum This letter is addressed to all Shia Ithnǎ Ashri youth (Male or Female) and parents. For your information Hussainia Mosques executive committee has formed a Youth Committee (HYC) to serve the Shia community of Birmingham. For the past 6 months HYC has been successfully holding weekly English Lectures at Hussainia Mosque on various subjects, which have been delivered by different speakers from across the country. The HYC has also arranged outdoor activities i.e; Bowling, Football, Go Carting etc. The sole purpose of these programs is to ensure that our younger generation stays connected with our religious and ethnic roots. By attending these lectures we would be able to educate ourselves to have a better understanding of our religion, our tradition, our culture and our custom which will enable us to perform our religious and social duties with sincerity and by participate in the outdoor activities organised by HYC and chosen by YOU, we will decrease the risk of mixing with the wrong crowd and create a strong bond with your shia brothers/sisters. Lectures conclude with a question & answer session, which is an ideal opportunity to increase your knowledge followed by refreshment, which is another golden opportunity to have a casual chat with your friends as this would help to strengthen the relation with your Shia brothers/sisters. The best thing about this program is that YOU get to choose the lecture you want to hear! YOU get to choose the activity that YOU want to participate and if you’re still not happy?
